Vodafone DIT Fashion Show Reaches Out

This year, the Show is aiming to raise awareness of Reachout.com, our chosen charity this year. Reachout.com is a service "dedicated to taking the mystery out of mental health".

The website itself is an excellent resource which provides advice and information on a wide range of  issues including depression, anxiety and bullying. There are real stories from people who are coping with mental health issues as well as tips on looking after our mental health through nutrition, exercise and building our self-esteem.

Photo Call at D-light Studios

D-Light Studios was the fantastic photo call location for the Vodafone DIT Fashion show finalists. As blogger for the show, I lurked around in the studio, half hoping I might get “discovered”. Alas, I did not. However, I did get to see our photographer and models in action again.   

Photographer Sasko Lazarov captured our finalists’ creations and clearly transmitted our “House of Chaos: A Twisted Tale” theme through his dramatic images. Once you see the photos below, you are definitely going to want tickets to the show. Vicar Street on April 17 is where it’s at, people!

A Moment off Duty but Never Off Trend

Seeking out style is always a thrill, and I certainly got my fashion fix at the DIT Student Design Semi Final. Siobhan Cahill one of the semi-finalists caught my eye and kindly took a moment out of her busy schedule on the night  to tell me that she often finds inspiration from fashion blogs including Lookbook. 

Siobhan’s mum, Maria Cahill and her Aunt, Siobhan Grady, were also in attendance and we can see that style clearly runs in the family. Loving the look, ladies!

Ever wondered what brings a fashion show to life? Backstage at the DIT Student Design Semi Final, our wonderful models waited patiently to have their make-up applied and practiced their catwalk debut, whilst our dedicated team put the finishing touches to the runway.  Check out the photos below!
